Cremorne Synagogue!

Led by one of Sydney’s most imaginative and dynamic Rabbis, Mendel Slavin, with his wife Chaya, Cremorne Synagogue enjoys the support and membership of a wide range of Jews from the lower North Shore. Apart from our religious services, we offer an imaginative variety of Jewish, Israeli, secular and communal activities, from community meals to celebrate a festival, to religious and secular talks, the Melton program, fascinating speeches on a wide range of topics, Friday night activities, and so much more.

Becoming a member of a small synagogue is an opportunity to become part of a warm, welcoming and connected Jewish community. In a smaller congregation, every person matters, and members are not simply faces in the crowd but valued participants in the life of the community. Membership offers opportunities to share in Shabbat services, Jewish festivals, learning, social activities and community events, while also forming meaningful friendships and connections. It is a place where people can celebrate together in times of joy, support one another during difficult times, and share in the richness of Jewish life and tradition. Volunteers

Volunteering in Our Synagogue

Volunteering is at the heart of a small synagogue and is one of the many ways members can contribute to a strong and caring community. Whether helping with services, events, hospitality, pastoral care, administration or simply welcoming others, every contribution makes a difference. Volunteering is not only about giving your time—it is also an opportunity to meet people, develop friendships and share in the responsibility of creating a vibrant Jewish community. In a small synagogue, every helping hand matters.

Some examples of volunteering include:

• The High Holidays Choir - you have a good voice we would love to hear it!
• Board Committees - The Board of Management is always looking for people to assist them with the workload.
• The Kiddush Fairies and Elves of Cremorne - you can use your skills to assist with kiddush and/or event food preparations. Why you might even pick up a handy recipe or two !
